SRC Construction & Paving Ltd are proud to announce they have been accepted for the renewal of the IIP award for a further three years following a positive assessment.
A summary of the assessment as follows;
There is no doubt that SRC Construction & Paving is operating in the true spirit of the Investors in People Standard. The business strives on continuous improvement and excellence in quality to give them competitive advantage and have demonstrated this commitment through the achievement of the Construction Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS), ISO 9001-2008 and are working towards the achievement of ISO 14001 Environmental Standard and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH. They are an accredited contractor on council tender lists in Yorkshire. They have also subscribed to Glenigan, a detailed construction contract sales leads and analysis database, to assist them in their objective of achieving 10 new commercial clients.
Further development of processes and procedures are currently being embedded in order to demonstrate capability to prospective clients. In such a difficult and challenging climate everyone has realistic expectations about what can be achieved and what needs to be delivered. SRC Construction & Paving have maintained workflow and are balancing the lack of commercial work with more domestic contracts which pay the bills. They have also learned from experience and are ensuring contractors are 'healthy' before accepting contracts using 'Risk Disk' to monitor companies performance before accepting new work to make better and more informed business decisions.
The exceptionally high emphasis placed on quality and health and safety are demonstrated by their achievement of a number of nationally recognised standards including ISO 9001:2008 and CHAS. The sense of team is very strong in the business, everyone pitches in to get the job done. As a result there is a strong culture of everyone learning and sharing together.
In addition everyone is clear about the standard of work required which has been an expectation set by the Directors and is consistently delivered throughout the business.
The commitment and investment to train and develop staff throughout the business is of the highest order. Everyone is interested in developing their skills and sharing knowledge with the people around them. In addition, there is good evidence to show that the different needs of people are supported.
SRC Construction is a good example of a small business formalising processes to improve efficiency and lay the foundations for future growth and stability.
