Types of Flags

The cheapest flags are flat, rectangular blocks of pressed concrete, referred to as 'Flags' in NW England, in other parts they are known as 'slabs'. Both terms refer to exactly the same item. These type of flags are better suited to commercial and non decorative applications.

The smaller, lighter patio and decorative flags and stone paving although more expensive than concrete flags, are far better suited to domestic applications where the finishing of the paved area is important.

To keep everything looking uniform we can fit integrated manhole covers with a recess to take a cut piece of paving / flagstone, whilst still retaining access to the chamber beneath.
