There are many different sizes/depths and colours of block paving, however
here is a general guide which we hope you will find useful.
For areas which will have heavy or persistant trafficing then we reccomend
80mm deep blocks laid upon 35mm sharp sand upon 150mm Type 1 Stone compacted
using a bomag double drum roller.Finally the joints will be filled using
kiln dried sand and the blocks compacted level using a compaction plate.
For Driveways we reccomend 60mm deep blocks laid upon 35mm sharp sand
upon 125mm Type 1 Stone compacted level using a bomag double drum roller.Finally
the joints will be filled using kiln dried sand and the blocks compacted
level using a compactioon plate.
For Footways we reccomend 50mm blocks laid upon 35mm sharp sand upon
100mm Type 1 Stone compacted level using a bomag double drum roller.Finally
the joints will be filled using kiln dried sand and the blocks compacted
level using a compaction plate.
Tegula
Paving
Tegula paving is slightly
more expensive than block paving but has that added ‘olde worlde’
feel depending on the type of house you own this could give it that
little extra appeal.
